The N°08 Outdoor pocket knife is dedicated to sporting activities: trekking, mountaineering, canyoning, sailing, caving, paragliding etc. Its ultra-resistant polymer handle is equipped with a safety whistle. The durable blade is equipped with a notched area to cut cords as well as a shackle spanner. The N°08 Outdoor equips ENSA (National School of Skiing and Mountaineering at Chamonix) guides.

Its very strong blade (2.5 mm thick) is serrated over 3.5 cm to cut natural or synthetic ropes and has a shackle key for 4 to 10 mm shackles. Its handle is water-resistant and whitstands extreme temperatures. It is equipped with a whistle.

Technical Description

Acier inoxydable MA5
Martensitic stainless steel with high hardness due to the addition of nitrogen (0.15%) and superior corrosion resistance due to a high chromium content (16%).

Handle
Fibreglass-reinforced polyamide to whithstand shocks, humidity, and extreme temperatures(-40°C à +80°C). Pealess survival whistle functions in all weathers (110 decibels).

Safety Ring
Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives from the N° 06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport).
